Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

Does Denbury truly care for employees

Feels like employees are working for free

It's strange after the layoffs so much work reallocated to us employees. There is

absolutely no hike, all the perks removed and we have to work so much extra with no appreciation

at all from senior management. At the same time the senior management

has fewer employees to deal with, they don't work extra and they get paid more.

This company is expecting us to work more and more with less and less pay.

also with perks removed we have to pay $106 per paycheck for cafeteria taxes. That

becomes $2500 per year. some may enjoy that benefit but a lot of us employees do not

eat a lot and we are ok with bringing food from home. This $2500 has become a burden

on employees now. why can't Denbury make cafeteria an option instead of forcing employees?

it feels like we are paying here to work here. at this rate more employees will leave

this company.

company wants everyone to save every dollar to survive. What about us employees? We

have lost bonuses, we have lost hikes, we are forced to pay for cafeteria food tax.

This may not be a big deal for senior management, for employees this is a huge burden

and it is becoming very hard to sustain.Every dollar for us is important too.

you have a valid point about the cafeteria dues...every dollar you can keep makes a difference. On the other side those "WTF" Rude as Idiots actually made some eye opening points that you need to try and remember, even though their responses were at a level and from a mindset of some of the D.R. highers!! That's why D.R. is probably so badly managed in the first place. Some people just don't know how to have normal discussions and lack good communication skills. So back to what I was saying. They mentioned count your blessings etc..etc...(not that you don't). Always remember, it could be worse! My advice; create a backup plan, time and time again in life, it's never wise to depend solely on one Career, Job, or bank account to take you to the end....

WTF, are you kidding me? Be grateful that you even have a job. I know several dozen people in the industry who have been laid off for a year or more. These individuals are technical staff, Engineers & Geologists from Houston to Denver, and were making 150k-200k a year, and now have to resort to jobs that make 40k-50k a year just to feed their family. No point going Independent, the capital is not available. My eyeballs almost popped out of my head when I was reading such an ungrateful attitude. Get use to the perks being taken away, oil is going to be in the sht hole for at least several more years. If anyone leaves the company because of the food, good riddance. You will not find a job in the O&G sector, and your compensation will be a lot lower than it is now, and I can promise you that! You need to swallow the pill that management is full of incompetent idiots that make the decisions that are attributed to Denbury’s fall from grace. Senior management doesn’t give a sht about the work horses who do the jobs they are too lazy to do. It was apparent in the layoffs, how many senior management or Supervisors got cut off verses the work horses of the company? Or add to that fact that HR received very little cuts, and what the hell does HR have do that has anything to do with finding oil and keeping production up? Not a damn thing, I have no idea what they are for. In the 10K look at Phil Rykhoek’s and his 5 million dollar compensation, he is getting fat with cash being the CEO when he is not competent to run a McDonalds. Denbury has been on a downward slope since Gareth Roberts was pushed out, the single most detrimental thing that DNR has done. Ever seen the price of DNR stock when the founder Gareth ran the company? Now you just have idiots who run things. They don’t care about you because thousands of unemployed O&G workers will gladly take your place, get use to it, and count your blessings that you have a job.

Just a quote to ponder.
