One can go from being begged to join the company by senior leadership, believing that you're valued and have a place in the organization for a long time...to being walked out as a "low performer" with ISP (for being "successful" and "new to Intel") in no time flat.
Despite getting external awards and recognition. Despite accomplishing more than 100% of objectives. Despite taking on stretch goals and challenges and representing Intel in the public sphere in very positive ways. None of it matters at all.
There really is no job security at Intel. It's all up to the vagaries of (really poor and inconsistent) management. You're always one manager, role change or whatever away from being shown the door. For being "successful" no less.
If there's a better way to destroy trust, risk-taking and initiative, then I don't know it.
