Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Time for new CEO

Who will the next CEO be? Internal or external?

MURTHY.? Internally was he hired to learn the org and take over.

MS has been hitting new highs after the Balmer failure. They are killing it in Data Center cloud biz.

SATYA has been amazing a Ex H1 hire. Intel BOD when do we get new vision?

Indian CEO are hot, just look around 10 X their demographics. They come from humble backgrounds, have struggled, beat the odde.. typically better educated and more stable

@1wau - Agreed. Murthy couldn't run a lemonade stand, lead water downhill, or manage himself out of a wet paper bag.

I would hire Murthy as night shift manager at Jack in the Box.

Murthy is big fat phony. time will show his true face.

What the hell Intel ever saw in Sohail is beyond insanity? The guy failed at the most important milestone in the history of the company, yet his weak services are maintained. Millennials need to Fitch this outfit forever.

Anyone remember or received that email sent out by Sohail to everyone who was eligible for VSP? Everyone from the BoD down to the 300 VP's should receive that same email telling them that they are the slow performers who have ruined Intel and to take a VSP or ERP package if the qualify for it.

The worker bees did not flush down the toilet 10 Billion Dollars on mobile and tablet market or decline Apple's offer to develop a chip 10 years ago for Iphone/Ipad market.

The titanic took down the captain and his minions and this will be Intel's faith 10 years from now.

Murthy already has put Sohail and Anne in the appropriate place. The current performance of 1272 and 1273 and prognosis for 1274/1276 insures that no future TMGer will run the company. Ironic as the founding legacy for intel was all about process manufacturing but not anymore 1274 and 1276 will be intels ruin! Of course we hav BK as the last TMGer to run the company and he'll ruin it at the rate it is going!

Murthy is well positioned to run the product group, but you wonder why he lost out at Qualcomm, and why would anyone take a step down from Qualcomm to run this dysfunctional place. The situated about him are many!

It is well known that the CEO search was extensive and BK and Renee were a sad compromise as the most desirable and qualified candidates turned down the company.

Given the current state and future outlook the likelihood a white knight like Gerstner rescue to IBM is unlikely. They couldn't get the candidates to sign up last time and when they ax BK likely in 2018 the situation will be even more dire. The board could go external and get a disaster hire like Melissa is always possible for this board. The internal senoir ranks are all x86 yes men to BK and don't expect anything like what Google or MS was able to pluck out of their ranks.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

@rrt - He is already having that effect in the groups reporting to him.

Murthy would create such a division as an outsider that he would either fire all executives or they quit. Do you think TMG executives would do as he says?

Murthy could be as bad or even worse than BK.

Anybody would be better than BK at this point. The company has been in utter decline since he has been CEO. He had some goal to be the next Steve Jobs, but not even close. Instead he looks like a failed start up entrepreneur. His epitaph should read: " Here lies BK, once given the keys to a golden kingdom, and proceeded to ruin it and a lot of people's lives to satisfy his own who".
