Things must be going to sh!t in a hurry. Have not heard a peep from BC or executive team in forever. Not since news about sales -2 to flat as best scenario. I am too damn young to start looking for new job.

JYV9lFG-bqck: your working at Target in Minnesota correct? In our dept we're actually above our original head count prior to the first layoffs. not seeing us anywhere near "well on our way" to 40% reduction in headcount. Curious what role are you in that you got a 120 day heads up on layoff?
Layoffs are and will continue to happen. I was informed earlier this month that I have 120 days before I am laid off. I have heard of many other, smaller layoffs. I remember when the first RIF happened there were rumors of a 40% reduction in HQ headcount. They are well on their way to that. My advice, prepare now. You don't decide to build a well once you're thirsty.
Is Target changing anything for new overtime law?
Yes, the prep work has begun to flush out the undesirables. People are being told to actively work on leaving (the team and/or Target), or are about to be moved to teams with a reputation for railroading people out of the company.
Slow trickle: I'm checking this site periodically looking for layoff information that insiders that work for Target might have and how it could impact my family today. It's pretty clear that you don't work forTarget now considering you're comments re: "There are better jobs out there at better companies." It was reported here that some BusArch jobs were eliminated, whether they were reported by the Star Trib is really immaterial right?
People have been layed off recently. It's just being done at a slow enough trickle that it doesn't capture attention in the newspaper. For example business architecture.
Don't worry. There are better jobs out there at better companies.
More noise.... there either are or are not layoffs happening. If there are and you have first hand knowledge by all means report.
will there be any layoffs in Target.com?
I am drinking way too much these days just to get myself to go into the office. Can I get a disability waiver for this?
There will be layoffs after q4 wraps up. The writing is on the wall. This time they're will be small trimmings across many areas so that it doesn't make Star Tribune
I work at Sears. Go check out our board, thank your lucky stars you work at Target.
Hey, everyone is worried. Don't have to look much beyond the outlook for Sears to be crapping your pants in retail.
