Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

When will the Schlumberger beancounters and HR reprobates take the axe to the Cameron headcount?

Its the only one left to decimate and destroy

If Cameron workers think they're safe because of the buyout clause just wait till you get transferred to a old SLB site then get axed.

it's a nightmare to expect SLB to pursue your H1B . If you are in Business or a key resource they might consider to sponsor, but if you are in IT then .....

As for H1-B visas, I've seen notices that we were hiring 2 in the last few weeks. Was tempted to go to our HR guy and tell him a friend of mine was interested in applying to the H1 position just to watch him sweat. We also had a few Cameron employees laid off a couple of weeks ago.

'its felt that Cameron is not very efficient, it pays its people way too much and there is too many people for the revenues they have. They need to be brought into line and run like a proper company'.....hell's teeth...sounds like Schlumberger.

In M- SWACO they held off for a while and even let an M-I SWACO guy become president but it didnt last too long before he was ousted and replaced by a Schlumberger guy and then the cuts started big time and the organization was destroyed

From my time it is operations and finance which decides budget usually not HR it used to be an annual plan, then a quarterly plan last i heard folks get fired for missing a months results even when the following months or quarter looks positive. Couple this with the discounts we agreed with our clients why is slb so narrow minded

HR were always the poor employees who get to swing the axe, operations and finance decides which trees to "save or sacrifice" in the name of this months profits or showing action. Are all companies the same?

Visa holders are packed to Pune or will be unpacked out of Houston soon, sooner, soonest ......Visa holders are sitting on the broken branch any time SLB will axe the broken branch....

HR paper-pushers, under the unstoppable Transformation Plan, will become House Realtors... Coz at this rate there soon will be far less humans than machines to manage. In the end, only the smiling portrait of Big Brother will be hanging on the wall of an empty office.

Cameron shop headcount? Chop-chop!

Somehow I don't think they got the no layoff clause, but I really hope they did for their sake.

Smith had two years of no layoffs written into their buyout. Cameron has something similar I would assume
