Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

What is being shared is criminal - there needs to be an investigation

As I read stories shared by employees, both past and current, it is apparent that as a public company, there was and currently is targeted discrimination, cooked books and illegal, unethical business practices with the implied intent of deceiving financial results and investor opinion. The Federal Trade Commission needs to be notified of this immediately and an in depth investigation needs to take place immediately. Practices such as described are the exact reasons that restrictive laws are now in place to protect the public, the employees and investors.

Likewise, such behavior is exactly why unions are effective in penetrating businesses that are not run in lithe best interest of employee fairness. To read that employees with tenure were targeted for dismissal is a clear violation of federal laws and especially within the public sector. This needs to be investigated and acted upon at the highest levels. It is aa top down issue. I intend to alert agencies that will take immediate interest in this matter from a legal standpoint. These leaders cannot be allowed to get away with this type of behavior, period. If you are aware of any behavior that will collaborate this within the company, please stay tuned. We need everyone's help to ensure that this is dealt with severely and those responsible are punishe with the limits of both legal and civil courts. Several names have been shared and this will allow a starting point. This is an outright crime.

The last comment is typical and why the top execs get away with stuff like this. Who cares, no one will do anything. Bull. It takes action and there are plenty of people who will talk. Not this time. This is moving forward

All I can say is good luck. Some of what's written here is steeped in truth, some probably not. And, even if you can find someone to step up and spell out what's happened, you know that they'll never find another meaningful job again. It's the typical American corporate climate.

As an investor, this makes me extremely angry. How dare they break the law with our invested dollars! This needs to be dug into and addressed at the meeting. This may warrant a class action suit. What a bunch of con artists

When employed at Cabela's I actually contacted the employee tip line and never got a response. I also discussed an issue that I had experienced with my HR rep and a few days later my manager played back the conversation almost word for word, the work environment degraded from there. If you were one of the good old boys you were protected, if you did not drink and carouse with them you were doomed. No matter how good a job you were doing.

As an investor, this is fraudulent activity and the executive team needs to be held accountable. Any coordinated targeting of long term employees will violate age discrimination laws, and that is just the tip of the iceberg cooking the books, this needs to be exposed. An election year is perfect to bring this front and. Center. How stupid could they have been, sounds like they thought they were above the law. This needs to be exposed
