Your input would be greatly appreciated, as we all have to come that way one day or the other. Your experience will give us an idea on what to expect. Please don't use this thread to vent all your bad feelings about intel and the people that worked behind ACT. The idea is not to blame others for what you have been through.

ERP at 55 had great reviews than focal hit with I4 (1st ever). mgr added her own content which I disagreed & didn't sign. I'm convinced that mgrs knew as they had to single out and write bogus crap to show I/others were below the others to be pushed out. HR & CEOs planned & gave it the name ACT before delivery of focals. 2015 the big push for diversity was a bunch of crap. So much $$$ was put out to bring every culture except caucasian to OR. I speculate this may have sorted out the numbers of who was going to get cut or not, (certain grade levels were invited). This mgr demoted KARMAs a BT*!

I was strongly encouraged to take ERP in June 2016 at age 59 after 30 years of service. I am working at a non-profit organization as an Encore Fellow and will receive $25K for 1000 hours of work over a one-year time frame. I paid offmy house years ago, have no credit card debt and no car payment. I contributed 20% of my wages to 401 K for many years and now I am set financially. I may not have to look for another job once I complete my Encore Fellowship. For the first time in 30+ years I don't have to ask anyone if I can go on vacation.
Had to get another job, multiple kids in college duh, worked hard, but my manager didn't give a phuck. So lucky I found another job.. and will hopefully work for another decade than will kick into retirement.
Young guys Intel don't care about you, got to watch your own back!
Was laid-off 57 years of age about 4 months ago. Have been looking for work locally since that time without success. I know if I am fortunate enough to get a job it will be well below my leaving salary at Intel. I am no longer looking for a career, just a job to tide me through the next 5-7 years. Things are not looking good since my skill set is pretty specific to Intel, and any job postings have very specific skill sets.
I haven't found a job and probably won't at my age (66) so will collect SS as soon as possible. Will still be needing Intel-level money for bills, mortgages, loans etc so not sure what will happen to me when the ERP buyout runs dry. I had assumed I could work until 70 to get the max SS benefit and better-than-medicare Intel coverage, but obviously that didn't happen. Still have kids at home with minimum-wage income only who have depended on me, and who are going to school too. Not really sure if ACT was about general headcount reductions or really about knocking loose the senior people, who make more over time. I'm hearing from my friends inside that hiring of RCGs is brisk. I wouldn't be surprised if BK's claim at beginning of 2016 will be true--he said HC would be roughly the same at end of 2016 as it was at the beginning.
Be ready for layoff if your boss is Indian and you are not, happen to me too.
Hmm, recurring theme. Indian boss gave me first S4, got another job for less pay but am much happier since had saved up in 10 years at Intel and mortgage already paid off. Can retire now if I want, but just cruising at new job now.
Saved aggressively for 30+ years. Age 57 and wanted to stay a while more. Indian boss gave me first l4 ever. Then i got the push. Had fu money anyway but thanks to bk the erp/isp was a cherry on top. Got a consulting gig in 3mo. Miss my friends but not the hr political "what have you done lately" bs having nothing to do with technical excellence and execution. Life is so much better when you are not spending most of your time defending against clever politicians trying to toss you under the bus to further their agenda.
Turning 50 soon and will become eligible for rule of 75 in six months. Will wait for the package, planning to take it whenever next time it is offered and retire.
ERP here (Early Retirement package) and have several offers - but NOT at the same pay (30% less). However and this is big...I would NEVER go back to work for Intel as a Blue Badge - My stress is much less, family life is much better and I just feel entirely better. You don't know that Intel is killing you until you stop and step away. Intel has some very serious issues, it is not a normal company, the people I interview with hire because they need a good employee - LONG TERM. This idea of - hire and then at focal you have to JUSTIFY your employment is very foreign to every company I have interviewed with. Do you remember what it felt like to actually be a wanted and valued employee?
I didn't get laid off. I waited a little over a year (after becoming eligible to retire) for a package to be offered so that I could retire early. It was always the master plan. Well, the master plan was actually for a package to be offered closer to when I was eligible to retire since I was SOOOOO ready to go. lol I am very happy with how things are now that I'm finally gone.
Best thing for people to do is to plan early so they can meet that goal If that's your goal. I know some people that never EVER want to stop working, they love it too much. Personally I think they're nuts, but in a good way. lol
50, laid off, took a job a month later. Life is great.
Took another job! When you are in your 50s unless you are a fellow/VP, how many of those got the ACT, you need to be supporting your kids thru college, maybe still have a few kids still in HS.
It is indeed a fortunate 50 year old who can walk way and say I'm retired, unless they lived simply, were successful.
In that way the whole ACT was rather insensitive in targeting the over 50, but if you are young, be aware the when you get old, may still be pretty good at what you do, but make more money and also need that money, companies and surely Intel will drop you whether you were good and valuable but "average"
