Sears St Petersburg Florida closing

Does anyone have any information on Sears St Petersburg. I am an Associate here and rumors are flying around my building that the city posted a demolition notice for our building to be destroyed. I ask my store management and they just say All we know is that we have been given no official notice that we are closing. This seems really odd. Whats going on here?

To OP

Your store is closing

Why do you think they snuffed out the Clearwater store manager (Julie)?

They made room for your store manager....Suzanne

This has been common knowledge for some time now (in the Sears "know" group)

Id also expect since they axed their OM as well, at least one of the ASMs of St Pete will transfer over there as well

A quote from the article:

Riefs said the store will remain open for the time being,

As of September 2016. It seems as though right now there is no specific date as to when this will happen.

This store isn't owned by Sears, your great Leader Eddie sold it to Seritage Growth properties so the demolition notice means that Seritage has an offer from another retailer who isn't bankrupt like Sears therefore they are going too reclaim the space in your store and give everyone there the boot. Its the Transformation that you keep hearing about. Sooner or later they will transform all properties to something not Sears/Kmart. Sorry to give you bad news but if you are on this site I'm sure you expected it anyway
