I was on the Sears website to see what Christmas decorations are in stock at my local store but it showed nothing available. When I searched other store locations close by there were plenty of items. I wonder if this means my local Sears is closing or do some stores carry Christmas supplies while others do not?

Have you ever tried running a register. Our registers are so old it is amazing we get through a shift without it cutting out on us, going blank or just freezing. To try to order something at the register would take at least 20-30 minutes. Our kiosk in the store hasn't worked for almost a year. We just tell the customer to order online, which I hear isn't the best either.
It depends on what kind of Christmas decorations you are looking for. If you were thinking about an empty shelf instead of tree I think Sears has more than enough stock...not stockings though; unless mean that old torn up pair if panty hose laying over by where the mirror used to be.
Many people miss the point about Christmas in that it used to be about giving people brand new things that they really didn't need or want or like. The new Christmas still is about that but is more about giving things away that you don't want anymore because it is cheaper to give it away than pay to have to hauled away; i.e retail shelving. Most black market businesses might have a fleeting interest but most scrap metal prices are low. Who doesn't need some old used carpet for their new post 2008 hovel? Everyone needs a old jewelry case for knicknacks like cancelled credit cards, overdraft statements from their bank, foreclosure notices and old computers.
Sears, you really did it right when you made this video.

Inside the store, ordering ship to store, ship to home, and store to home are best done at a register. The store system has more accurate inventory. I don't bother using the kiosks for my customers.
Surprise surprise. The website has been having a lot of problems lately. It was telling me the other day something wasn't arable for delivery to my zip code but when I went over to the register it was.
Something is going on with the website. Probably has to do with the layoffs. I don't depend on the website anymore.
When is the last time you have been to your local Sears? All Sears are closing.
Probably just a glitch. I wouldn't worry.
