Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Significant # of VSPed still around enjoying the free ride

Murthy was too generous in giving underperformers options, hopefully in next round those will get NO package

I got the VSP last time around and took it. I know some VSPers declined and decided to take their chances. If they could get a guarantee of a stellar (EE or O) focal next time or a grade promotion AND they were in a group/function that was essential to the company, then that would have been the right bet. Otherwise, not. In either case, unless you are just trying to crawl to ERP status, you better be looking for an external job as the same time you are working to game Focal. No one is safe.

Funny that VSPs believe they are safe. Hardly! Certainly there will be combo of new SL4, VSP, etc chosen for next round. Mgrs have it easy to just pick.

Careful what you wish for because it might be you who gets it next. Any one that thinks they are above the cut line for the next round is a fool. Sure some previous VSP declines will get it, but so will many more who considered themselves safe. There are no safe jobs at Intel right now regardless of what you may think, or what your manager is telling you.
