Again, why are you waiting for a leader when YOU could be the change you want to see? But no, you just choose to whine like a baby on an Internet board waiting on the group to move, just like a sheep.

Baaaaaaah.

But really, now is the time to stand together and do our job and keep this great company going.

I relate to the anger towards Sears that is expressed on this board. It is good that there is a place to blow off steam and make fun of the company we work for and to share information. I just feel I would like to caution folks about calling out sick on Thanksgiving or protesting. You will most likely lose your job and if that's okay with you then fine but if you need your job then s-ck it up, go to work and then come to the board to unload.

If you no longer need Sears then by all means. In my case I have been cut down to about 4 hours a week with a year average of about 8 hours per week, so essentially laid off. It has been this way since the beginning of the year and I know after the holidays they will cut me down to 3 hours a week for Jan and Feb. I was able to find a second job in March that pays more and gives more hours, so I currently work both. I have nothing to lose with Sears and I do not plan on giving up my holiday for a job that gives 5 hours a week. After talking it over with family we are in agreement that I will not be working Thanksgiving and if I get fired over it then I really don't care. I just feel as though I want to suggest that people think this through and do not do something rash. If you need your job right now then it isn't the right time for you to walk out. Other retail places are hiring for the holidays. They pay better but as a new seasonal employee you will most likely be on the schedule for Thanksgiving at the new place. And there are no guarantees the store would keep you after the holidays.

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, I just want people to think about the consequences before acting. And yes, Eddie is despicable for opening on Thanksgiving when it should be time spent with family. Leena Munjul adds insult to injury when she tells the public not to worry or feel guilty about shopping because the people are all seasonal employees or volunteers. BS
