Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

H1B laws were broken and abused with recent layoff. Basis for class action or federal investigation?

http://heather.cs.ucdavis.edu/Mich.pdf This is a 2003 report on the abuse of the H1B program. Shortage is not real, after layoffs many US citizens were replaced by H1Bs. The government won't go after big companies like Apple or Amazon, but Intel might be used as a escape goat if it continuous shrinking at its current rate.

BTW, to all those saying Americans are lazy to get a PhD....getting an education in the US is a lot more expensive than in the rest of the world. Many undergrads opt to work and pay debt rather than being happy about a $15,000 grad school salary. Still those who get a PhD don't end up at Intel. They go to better companies or government labs.

While American grad accrue debts and hence cannot even think further studies, Indian people come with negligible debt and take jobs... Completely unfair - but who is going to listen? You think Clinton is going to listen? Unless you have a pay-for-play for scheme!

@1uxi.....you know the layoffs cost $1 billion, right? Not to mention the amount of talent lost. RCGs are just being used as yes man. Intel will pay in the long run a very expensive bill due to this loss. Cheap is expensive in the long run.

Hey fresh PhD only cost about 120k and cheap healthcare cost compared to old less educated America citizen, what CEO wouldn't layoff the old and hire younger more educated PHD from aboard.

About the only smart thing BK can comprehend and do, LOL

It definitely should be used as basis for class action lawsuit. Tech companies are abusing H1B program to replace older worker with younger and cheaper H1B workers (see below thread). We need to work together to destroy this ridiculous myth of high-tech labor shortage being used by high-tech companies in order to increase and abuse H1B program.
