Meh, it's all speculation. Typically they lay off during the last week of the quarter (this week/ July 25). They'll probably do another Limited Restructuring (they do them every quarter now) where they reduce headcount in San Jose by 100-500 and get rid of older workers. Gotta make way for fresh blood with little experience (check out LinkedIn job postings). Let's not kid ourselves -- this is all about big companies with slow growth trying to make their quarterly numbers. Cisco keeps acquiring technology and has to get rid of costs somewhere. Easiest to lay off employees and borrow money for stock buybacks to inflate stock. It's a big game.
Cisco site is much more civil then Intel
They also have a Global workforce, chinese, Isareli, Indian
Just less racist. Higher Global workforce than Intel
The few posts I read appeared to be troll free. Everyone seems nice and polite over there. I hope some of that rubs off over here.
We should all flood their page with welcome to layoffs.com messages

Lol. Welcome to the real world of the Obama economy.
@awq Define legacy tech...does Apple qualify?
Find me one legacy tech company that is not having major cuts.
