Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Re: He that lives on hope has but a slender diet.

you were right, that didn't take too long to see. I really wanted hope to be real. Real is what we worked with today and it was stupid, sorry, sad and disgusting. So much for hope. Reminds me of George Carlin and the seven dirty words skit. I had all of them going through my mind today. But I walked in thinking how much I could get done because it was a new day for us in our store. Kmart smart prevailed.

Sorry to tell you, but you are just not on the program YET. The phases go until about October this year and then stop for the Christmas season. They will resume in January until ALL stores are on it.

Contrary to the article found at http://finance.yahoo.com/news/kmart-workers-believe-stores-going-162400821.html?soc_src=mail&soc_trk=ma, my store - a high profit location - has not been asked to empty our backrooms. Honestly, such would be foolish as we are receiving way too much freight that it could not be staged onto the sales floor with store aisles remaining accessible to "members."

Kmart is indeed dying, but Corporate leadership is not imposing the same mandates onto all locations. I would love to see an empty stockroom, but such is an impossible feat given the volume of crap we receive from the DCs.

Thank you. I'll go in there tomorrow and butt my head against the wall again. And then one day I will not. Forrest Gump ran one way and then turned around and ran the other way just because

My intent when posting that quote was to suggest taking a cautious approach to the new situation at your store. Sears/Kmart possesses a unique ability to turn hope into despair. It is most distressing to learn that the situation soured so quickly. Just remember, you approached this with the right attitude and the best intentions, it was Kmart that failed to uphold their end of the bargain.
