RIF at corporate.

Heard today about big reduction at corporate last Friday. Heard it hit some long timers this time.

AMEN! The NextGen program was pretty much a joke. We honestly only gained a handful of intelligent young minds willing to learn while the majority were just entitled brats.

Everyone needs to understand that it does not matter the age of a person. Old timers need jobs too. That's part of the problem with these young people coming into the corporate industry. A lot of good people have lost their jobs and some were just in their early 50's. Before you start talking about how young people need to come in and take over; think about if it were your parents here that lost their jobs. Imagine them losing everything. Don't think for one minute that it can't happen to you and that you are so much better because you are young and just out of college. I worked with a lot of newbies just out of college and unfortunately college didn't teach these kids anything about the oil industry and what is required to do a job. I had to teach a few of you the ropes myself. WE ALL NEED JOBS!

Young EXPERIENCED minds......that does not mean next gens. They don't have the expertise in oil and gas. You need young, educated and experienced. NOV has few of them anymore.

Unfortunately not the right ones. There is still a lot old old petrified wood taking up space around here. Time to squeeze the old timers out and make room for some young minds. Young minds that will guide the company back to its place at the top.
