Creation of DDS is a bad idea. Works only when oil price was at $120.00. Clay please dissolve this management hirachay and assign DDS staff to D&I and Rig.

It will be more efficient, cost effective, less office space ( with all the VPs, directors and middle management gone). Silly GPE roll will be gone and we will have more engineers to work.

Yes, merge the two, keep the talent of both, get rid of the management 'fat'. they dont create wealth.

Why they are split like this in nov i have no idea, unless they intended to spin one off?

DDS is NOV step child. No one gives a sh-- to us.

Might as well dissolve it into Rig and D&I.

Cant agree more, its shocking how much talent has been got rid of in favour of deadwood. Stupid and blind.

Look at other corps like scumberger - they have at least kept the money earners....

Got caught by one of the many RIFs at CP. Sad to say that a lot of good talent was walked while the "good 'ol boys" that have been around for years and have little to show for it are still there. I don't wish a layoff on anyone, but it sure is depressing to see some of the "bright young stars" walked out the door while the dead wood is still sitting on the pile. If you are still at CP and see another offer come your way, take it. The severance is not worth hanging on for.

Should of canned this dog years ago. CP facility is a joke. No serious talent, just pole smokers and arse kissers. The company would be better off without them. Cut em all...with da chop

DDS upper management is getting ready for another round. They are having meetings and preparing the list. Guys be ready. Backup your personal stuff from company computers. Walk out, if had to with grace. There is life after NOV. Do not argue with HR or your manager who cut you because they have very little say in this.

SLB and HAL are posting major losses in Q2. NOV will follow. SLB plan to cut more heads. NOV will follow. With rig count as low as it is there will be reductions. Cedar Park is one of NOV step daughters. Clay will hit this facility before end of Q3.

Guys it is time to get resumes out within your network.

Sounds about right they always let the best and brightest go first and keep the sh-- till the bitter end seems to be a common format at all facilities.

Cedar Park let go 60+ last Friday, 7/15. Not sure if more coming this week. They let go good people who produced while keeping those who shouldn't even be in their positions based on experience, knowledge, and effort.
