Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

If you are over 50 and survived the last purge, pay attention.

You may have made it this time, but in general Intel is no longer a place you can retire from at your own timing. Think you can work until 70 because you have a mortgage, kids with college loans, etc? Think again. https://www.thelayoff.com/last-25.php

Live within you means, you old fools strugglers.

Plenty of children get educated with school loans, what's so special about your children needing their parents to pay.

You did not have to buy a big home you could not own by age 50. Shameful. What have you been doing all your life. You oldies had the golden days.

The trick is to save a hell lot when you are young. Then the fear factor of dependence goes away! Making good life style choices is a great first step. Best wishes.

Intel is a slow moving train wreck, the recovery plan BK has hatched is really broken at the core as what I saw before I left simply hasn't mobilized the foundation. Thus no matter what fancy powerpoints he shows at BUM, at IDF, CES or gives to analysts simply isn't grounded in fundamental changes at the foundation and without a solid foundation the best ideas will fail regardless of whether they are right or sound.

So everyone not the 50 year old is in trouble, but the 50 year old likely is senior, makes a lot, and options are very limited and is screwed the most compared to most others.
