Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

ISP-- Received your $9000 cobra yet?

I signed up for 6 months COBRA and never received the $9000.

Anybody else received it?

I'd have thought people would be bellowing had they not received their money by now. You might be the only one. Not sure I'd lawyer up at this point (expensive)... have you pushed for answers more than their canned answers? I ERPed and everything was like clockwork/seamless.

Let me ask you a stupid question... are you SURE you haven't received it? You very well might have missed it as you wpn't be seeing $9k according to this post: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/HWRDY1P :

*the $9k is paid out similar to the variable separation pay... within 30 days of your term date. i would expect it about a month after you leave. *

You'd only see about half of that amount. Unsure if it's its own paycheck, or if other stuff is included (listed out for various line items like unpaid vacation, etc). Guessing it might be it's own paycheck without that other stuff but it would be good to check your mailed paystubs and also whatever bank account your paychecks were deposited to.

Good luck.

10/6/16 The response I received from the 3rd level support HR person, 104 days since the layoff.

"Kindly be informed that we are working with the Benefits department in order to get your COBRA payment, as soon as I have an update on the pay date I will let you know."

Thanks for your understanding.

What's the name of the law firm that got us the $$$ from the class action suit? Anybody else not get their $9,000?

Were you eligible for both/land on both lists @Silj? Some people ended up on multiple lists. For instance, I know someone that was on the ERP & ISP lists. She got the better ERP package but was immediately walked out as per the ISP 'rule'.

If so, you got the better of the packages which was ERP benefits. You don't get both packages.

I called in July, and they, told me August 23rd or so. It didn't come, so I called August 26th, and they said it showed I took ERP, not VSP and I was not eligible to receive it. They escalated it in HR to "the experts" on August 30th. I called them again on 9/7 and they still will not give me any information, except Payroll is swamped and they are working on it.

I called on when I can get those $9000 on Corbara, answer is maybe 7/15, or end of July. Apparently did not happen on 7/15, looks those people answer the phone do not know the answer. Not sure who from Intel control that and no intention to let us know either.

The execution of separation payment is disaster, noboday has any idea on when they can get what portion of those separation payment and no inconsistent answer for query for those payment question. Not sure why Intel doing this, make for Q2 financial report looks better?

Even worse, some stupid folks come here not to answer those questions but spill sh-- to those impacted.

Intel, is this how you hold your reputation?

I talked to payroll yesterday and he said August 1 for the cobra. Guess everyone is getting different answers. :(. FYI- he also confirmed its getting taxed at the supplemental rate.

It will be delayed until Intel files for Chapter 11

I called 'go my ben' last week and was told it should arrive before the end of August, inconsistent with what others reported here.

The way that ACT has been conducted has been complete amateur hour.

It's honestly pretty generous for Intel to give us severance, but any good will or appreciation has been frittered away with the way that it has been conducted: my dipsh*t manager and a contract HR person walking me out after being unable to reach the ACT support line to answer the simplest questions; poor communications around how much and when the severance will be paid; not paying leftover vacation; not vesting stocks a couple of months early; and finally no idea on the COBRA money.

Just amateur hour.

Found out from transition support this week that it will be released on 7/29.

I called HR and they said it will be paid sometimes in July, no specific date yet. I am guessing it would be 7/31 as the next paid cycle. Also, they told me that no one had yet been paid for this.
