More troubling to see at Intel are the white employee gangs. They support and help their own kind - even in programs meant for all employees. Also at company events: you will see a huddle of white, blonde, look alikes gathered together.

So - assuming one isn't going to hire based on quality alone - wouldn't THOSE numbers be a more appropriate hiring basis? Isn't THAT the "society" that hiring would more appropriately reflect?
Nba team is hardly a few 10s. How can you compare it with Intel that employs close to 100k people.
There's a reason the four professional sports leagues (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB) do not have diversity; if an owner in any of those sports decided to do 25% blacks, whites, Asians, Hispanics to have the most diverse team, not only would that team not win a championship it wouldn't have a winning season.
They're smart to know that what makes the team best is talent regardless of color or ethnicity.
@otl I am referring to NBA. Women has WNBA. Gender is not the discussion here. You are missing the point. We talk about adding more women in the workforce, that's totally understandable and I agree with that. But when we are doing whatever to hire and keep URMs simply because of their race, I do not agree.

OP, do not forget that we have in INTEL very complex, politically wise sh--.ty situation. You see... I'll explain to you and to all IOTG smoking mirrors.
Everybody knows that IOTG is heavily recumbent on CCG. All significant CORE and ATOM skus for IOTG are coming out of CCG architecture and design. In order to get rid of bad apples, CCG sends some of them to IOTG, so they remain for ages there. In last 10 years CCG and IOTG management teamed politically up, to get 50% increase in salaries and lofty perks. So, both of them sit on minion spines and their very hard work, practically doing nothing, just walking and talking, walking and talking!
In other words, you have two layers of FLMs and SLMs INTEL should get rid of, and send them straight to streets, to collect street garbage. If they (NEW executive management) do this (and let go 5000 of these dead woods), they'll save minimum $1B USD (maybe even $1.5B USD) per annum, and get morale in INTEL much higher!
