Thread regarding Cablevision Systems Corp. layoffs

Are layoffs coming to internal IT at Bethpage

With the fact that Altice can't layoff customer facing employees for 4 years I have a bad feeling internal IT is in their sights. I've already heard from inside sources that the clock is ticking and that by the end of August IT will be slashed by almost two-thirds. Anyone at the company longer than 5 years making 6 digit salaries are primed to be replaced.

Just want to know if anyone else has heard of anything? On another note I also know from a source that Altice is not paying any bills and are looking to re-negotiate all contracts

Heard the same as well... and this appears to be a big one. I'm hearing close to 500 people in Bethpage will see pink slips Tuesday morning. Some already know its coming while others are totally in the dark. It's a shame!

Not sure why you are blaming the Dolans? They simply took the $$$ and ran. If anything look at the track record of Altice and how they slice and dice at the expense of the customer. That's how they have done it everywhere else and are now doing it here in the US

Why is this being kept so quiet? The Dolans will have slaughtered Long Island when it's all over. I know Newsday and News 12 can't report it, but what about other channels?

CT should have done what NY did and not allow customer service reps to be laid off as part of the approval. They screwed themselves on this one.

Almost 600 being let go in CT. The new owner is destroying the company, the local economy and people's lives. www.sheltonherald.com/90723/shelton-and-stratford-legislators-react-to-altice-usa-layoffs/

Why isn't this in the news?

So sad that the Dolans did this. All they made all those years and they could not wait for a better buyer?

I have it on good word that some IT managers have already been let go while others have been notified they will be released shortly. Expect more changes coming with the combining of Cablevision and Suddenlink's IT staff.

Gonna get worse before it gets better

Slowly and quietly employees are being let go. This way they can avoid saying they are doing mass layoffs.
