How can they sponsor H1Bs and Green Cards when so many people have been laid off? NOV has to certify that there are not enough U S citizens to fill these jobs.

What they get is an underpaid indentured servant from a third world country with a PhD from DupDup University...meanwhile, they won't pay the going rate for someone from a masters degree from a recognized state institution.
89000 is crappie. I'm so happy I was laid off and found a much better opportunity. We pay our foreign Ops managers 200k+. Never realized how much I was getting screwed at NOV. Stop being patriotic and read the criteria for H1B. The guy you are referring to will be more qualified than you. He makes that much money because he is qualified to do so. I know many patriotic people in NOV making more money than this dude without having any degree. Secondly , H1B people are also contributing in the progress of this country. Its their hard earned money and They are not stealing it. Unlike many citizens who buy everything on food stamps when driving a brand new mercedes.
