Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

HR seems to be swamped--have the layoffs begun there?

Sent three emails (to three different addresses, two of which bounced) and two phone calls today--and message says "sorry there is no one available to take take your call. Try again later." Those people have to be swamped with the volume of layoffs and questions and issues.

They don't answer questions, just try to figure out what the next filter on the employee database should be for the next round of layoffs

It took me a very long time, but I finally got someone to answer the phone, so keep trying. I am pretty sure a lot of this is outsourced to the service centers in Costa Rica and Malaysia (or wherever they have all the shared service centers now) because of volume. I am still waiting to get an answer/resolution but I think HR worker bees are working as hard as they can. They are not to blame for the huge hit they are getting n volume of calls and issues. All of the line HR people I've dealt with have been very good and conscientious. Remember, they don't make the policies, they just make them work.

My rule of corporate migration states, "Slugs move to HR".
