Years of Lay-offs, no raises, not even cost of living increases, taking away one weeks vacation a year, medical insurance benefits getting worse every year(while consistently becoming more expensive). I remember when Seagate wanted to retain the best employees, and look appealing to prospective employees, not so now. Seagate has remained profitable for years, I cannot remember the last quarter where a profit was not declared, yet there are always lay-offs and rumours of lay-offs circulating through the halls. Apparently after going private, liberating the company of all it's liquid assets was not enough. The rich get richer without any regard for the peons who got them to where they are today, the executive officers must have sold their souls for corporate greed, there is a special place in Hell reserved for them.

Former young employee here. I genuinely miss the people and culture at my facility... truly a great group of people. That said there were some serious flaws in the management system and a terrible inability to recognize the need for infrastructural changes. I'm not at all surprised to see the company faltering.
Also that whole taking away of benefits for the senior employees back in 2015 or 2014 was BS. As one person pointed out in the all hands meeting where it got announced, it was essentially a 2.5% pay cut for anyone who'd been there for more than 10 or so years. At a time when we were meeting all of our production and quality goals... That was pretty damn hostile from the higher ups.
Not hostile, just crappy.
No more good old days.... the top guys just make sure they r getting rich... they dont care about the low working groups who make the products n make the customer happy...
So, find another job then.

Look just get over it we just need to work that bit well a really big bit harder and think outside the box . we can ride this storm out. Negative all the time just remember all the good old times we had pay rises family fundays overtime safety shoes goodie bags and let's not leave out the free breakfast. The good old days are gone welcome to the new third world employer hail Seagate !!!
