Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

The 14% should be exclusively at the design centers in the USA.

Strategically axe 80% of USA design center's staff and it would operate better in less space. That's being conservative, it's probably closer to 90%. All personnel, including management, on the line. You would need to bring in folks from the outside to do it though. Place a mole in there for 6 months and determining the dead wood would be child's play.

The company will be dead regardless. True that LCO has been a key player in helping Asian design centers, but there are no future plans or ideas to further the company. There are only so any iterations of the same 'ol thing before you are obsolete.

80% that's cute.

the company would be dead within months. Tell me again, what high margin products are coming out of the Asian design centers? Singapore and Bangalore are not yet able to release derivative products without LCO holding their hand.

Unfortunately that will never happen. Too much dead wood being protected by upper brass...
