It doesn't take much brains to figure out that young students don't dream about Intel as GPTW but rather new post-PC IT market leaders such as Facebook, Google - even Apple and Microsoft. What do you think of Intel nowdays are cubicles, administration, suits... Intel is stucked in 90's and it's not cool and it will never be - never was...
While Google, Facebook invested a lot to show themselves as a cool companies with shinny and colorful new offices, entertainment zones... It was not done for nothing - that's the way to attract the brightest while Intel is lost in internal affairs and politics.
Giving up on GPTW is not smart move but on the other hand shows that BK is aware that we will s--- at GPTW big time...
With current 19th century industrial revolution management practices of treating people like machines Intel will never make this type of list.
The only list we'll make these days is one that measures how "regressive left" we can go. Quotas? yep we've got them. Special bathrooms?,., yes, those too. Firing old people? Of course - all the time!
No other chip manufacturers or old tech made the list - e.g., Microsoft, AMD, HP, NXP, Qualcomm, TI, Apple, Broadcom, Applied Materials, Oracle, IBM, GE, Amazon, etc... Most likely that they too did not participate. HP used to occupy a spot in the Top 10 for years.
This "Top 100" list is pretty much worthless without full participation.

RCGs reluctant to come to Intel now? Even Asians who were doing MS in US?
If I was in his place I would admit the fact and say out that I will make it a GPTW soon. Well that's BK and his team for you folks
BK understands why it's not worth of effort because he knows Intel would not likely to make it in the list. Now he can say Intel is not on the list because we did not apply. We could have been number 1 if we had.
Why should Intel care attracting/hiring the best when H1Bs from Indian is their priority. H1Bs or Indians don't care for best place to work ratings.
@dre may be correct, I vaguely remember hearing that we don't try to get into that list anymore.
Although I like what dre said, "it's not worth the effort". Very true, making Intel a real GPTW doesn't seem worth the effort to the current management, so they don't even try.
Intel has fallen off of all the leading 'Best Places' lists for some time. Besides the 'work' PR has to do to submit the application, success then depends on employees to get the application with their testimonials--not happening these days or even lately. As to RCGs, the ones I've tried referring have declined once they did their research.
My experience is we lost the Tier 1 students long ago, and tier 2 this past decade and now need to go to Tier 3 to get most of the factory workers, and we occasional score a Tier 1/ Tier 2 if you are lucky.
Like College signing day or Pro draft, sorry you don't build winners from the bottom rounds, yeah you find a gem no and then, but you don't produce a winning team that way.

Now Intel will not be able to attract the best and brightest, while the best and brightest at Intel take a walk to better companies.
All a consequence of losing scale to mobile devices.

Find it hard to believe management doesn't care, but when your future is so at risk and you are laying off how can making this list be a priorities and especially if it takes "work".

BK addressed this at a BuM previously and said that Intel chose to not participate as it wasn't worth the effort required. Not saying I believe him, just sharing the party line.
H1B Visas disagree. They are replacing Americans, especially older Americans, in droves.
Wow! If memory serves correct, Intel used to be a perennial member of this list. Shows you how degraded the company has become under the poor leadership of Krzanich.
