Intel will benefit by not hiring you. Please run away and be a burden to another company.

Grade 7: anything less than 125 is bad in non bay area. Bay area min is 140. (Year old data and mininum. On avg should be 5% more)

You are silly @IieRslt-ivc 😁😊

Why are you doubtful instead of appreciating advice given.

Are you not open to learning new ? ha ha must be an old / long term Intel employee. Another-has-been 😋😊 .. wants to stay in past.

I believe it. In the last one year, there have been too many people coming into Intel with salaries in excess of $185 base. This includes people I personally know that were hired in a similar senior grade as mine around the same time as me.. 😔

Even the Oregonion newspaper reported that average salary for Intel Employees in hilly billy state of Oregon is on average $170k.

Anyways each to their own. Those that don't want to improve and make their life better and richer ?

Then remain as you are 😋😉😊 .. ok ?

Great to hear about your success @IhPTsf3-1xqi 😊❤❤❤

🙏 😊Wish you the best, good luck at Intel.

Thank your for sharing your new found wisdom. You have convinced me and confirmed my belief in leaving Intel. It is the only way to get what I want. Chances of succeeding in salary negotiation etc after accepting a job offer - are none to nil - even as a URM. I have messed up my career by coming to Intel.

Well let's see I keep hearing job, not much re a career

I HAVE 7 years experience, a BS, MSc in Applied Physics and a MBA from tier 1 school.

I interviewed for a planning stratergy slot. They asked my salary expections. I said salary was less important then how I could be key player, Sr Exec in 10 years. Intel I said would be fair on the offer, and I totally trust them being fair.

I know I am not in a pure engineering role. They made me a offer it was ok average. I never said yes or no. I said I still did not see how I would be one of the top leaders in 10 years, substuited what you wish research fellow, plant manager etc...

They scheduled 3 other meetings, which I suggested a 10 minute phone call, before physical meeting. Then I followed with a email which again stressed my goal to be a leader within 10 years at the highest level. I met execs at least a few levels higher than usual. Long and short of it the base I accepted was 60k more well over 200k. Negoiatrd a future not a job. They know I expect variety and need to move up every three years. Negoiatrd for being the plant manager, Research fellow and hold them to it.

I suggest you listen to the best Prof at HBS Deepak Malhotra on utube google him he has taught negoiation, the video is 2012....ps be happy create value

PhD GR7 likely 115-130K

MS GR5 maybe GR6 if you dance on water and manager sponser you 70-100K

BS GR3 likely start at 60-80

With four years experience I think you are worth GR5 minimum and or GR6 pushing you to the ballpark you are in.

What area, you know coming to Intel you get a leash called your laptop and a phone and are on call 7x24 and are the single point contact for the tool/process. You work like a coalminer and get no hazard pay and BTW Moore's Law is dead.

If you are going to a 10nm factory get ready for keeping tools dialed in at crazy precision, and tool models assume uptime that are total lies based on some sweet smelling Indian executive VP so your tools are always way oversubscribed and WIP piled at your station and no recovery in sight You are doing PMs and monitors to try to get the process to yield, and the downtown and PMs were never forecasted so your tool is always red and your FLM, SLM and factory manager will always be yelling at you. BTW 14nm isn't any better either, nor 22nm. The whole PE things is lies and more lies from PTD

Better to start by asking for BIGGER DIGITS 😉wink 😉wink

... and then if needed negotiate down, than the other way around ! Don't be afraid to walk away. Good opportunities are plenty around for those willing to try. 😁 Life's too short to live with regrets.

Good luck 😊 !! Why work for less, when same work can be done with more pay.

If you think you can do better, you're certainly welcome to walk. Did Intel put a gun to your head and is forcing you to take that offer?

I guess to an entitled person the world just isn't fair.

As for $80k, that's ballpark correct base salary for an incoming experienced G5. If you don't like it then go somewhere else.

Your geo ? Intel salary range for you should be $110 to $140, base. Base is what pays your bills and living expenses.

Do not let Intel bully you into accepting a PACKAGE in which they try to include everything under the sun to make it look like you are getting a lot of money, you are not. Stock is a waste.

Intel is trying to get rid of their long term garbage and desperately need good people from better companies to improve their toxic culture and environment. They will give you what you ask for, especially if you fit their URM model. Are you female ? Person of color ? etc.

It is not fair. The recruiter is taking advantage of you ! I also got ripped off when I joined in 2015- a low six figure salary in a high grade - once in the company, it becomes very difficult to raise it. If they do not fix it, I will not be staying here.

You should be getting a six fig salary like most Intel employees.

All new Intel hires are joining with very high inflated six figure salaries.

Did you tell recruiter this range, how did they come up with 80k ? Negotiate to a higher sum above $100k or decline.

Any of Intel competitors can beat this. Intel is not such a great company that you need to short sell yourself for it.

Their external brand is better than what the company actually is. Continue interviewing in the job market, if you must.
