They are the leftovers that couldn't get a job at Google or Facebook.

Software is for the young, that's funny. I'm far from old (30's) but got into it with an RCG who claimed that OS's would move to Java or even Python in the next 5 years, eliminating Windows altogether. All his RCG friends agreed with him.
Hardware is different. Experience counts there.
Software it seems is a game for the young.
50 something with two decades at intel. Got f**ked by my manger this past year, many offers all with more money. BK can BK his RCGs to his delight. You can go to a TF and see who has a clue, LOL
Real work done in the fab has a lot of challenges only known by experienced people. Hiring RCGs to make the same mistakes people did a few years ago is a waste of resources. Best thing is to have a balanced population.
