Congratulations, from 27 dollars to 1 penny, that's not easy to do. I think I have a buck somewhere, maybe I will pick up a hundred shares. Maybe it will be back up to 2 cents by days end. What a roller coaster ride.

A break off of south university??? South already started the transition???
Unlike the Real Estate market, there are alternatives to the For Profit model in the form of Community Colleges, State Run Colleges, and High School Outreach. Now the problem will be funding on the state level. Here in Texas, in spite of growing demand, the Republicans are continue to cut the education budget. It's all politics. For the GOP, education is a privilege, not a right.
Bottom line; For Profit colleges aren't coming back in any form whatsoever. There's really no need.
Come on guys... We got a chance here. Believe me.... We can do it?
Great so you would " cash in your 401 k" to "save the place".... You'll be living in a cardboard box down by the river with that thinking ...
You are an idiot.
I think as a teacher, we should cash in our 401k and save this place. We love the students
Edmc is still traded "over the counter" on the pink sheets. You can still buy it if you want.
Although that would be less satisfying than buying a beer and pissing it away .. Lol
You mention South, Ai, and Brown Mackie. What about Argosy?
The stock is no longer on NASDAQ, has not been in years...IT IS FOR THE MOST PART PRIVATELY HELD. Posting stock price is really pointless, anyone who had stock sold it a long time ago when Goldman was tearing the company down. It has nothing to do with the value or standing of EDMC since the vast majority of the company holdings are own by one or two parties that took over the debt. Next step is to break off assets and close the parts of the company that are in trouble ie. Brown Mackie and soon a break off of South University. The AIS associated with south have already started the transition. More then likely the company will be AI only in the next year and hopefully they will reduce more campuses. The company was forced into massive growth by the old boards and stock holders...the bubble has burst and now like the real estate biz the company has to purge and evaluate. I would guess either a sell off of AIs or a move to nonprofit status like other for-ptofits. The model is over and time to make things right for a future or there won't be one.
If anyone has fifty bucks they could buy EDMC. Anyone want to make a hostile takeover?
