Aaaahh, Wellbore Technologies!

The problem with DDS and DI is not the lack of leadership; in fact we have more "leaders" than can be counted. The problems is no body wants to following them, or trust their "visions" and "strategies".

No doubts there are true leaders in NOV, but these are becoming rarer, with each voluntary retirements, RIFs, etc.. (Reads: More rooms for nepotistic and self-serving people to be in the leadership positions.)

It will take along time for NOV to re-establish itself within the industry and with its employees, assuming this is what NOV wants to do.

It's insane that DDS and D&I are still separate. Both of those guys are losing money each month. Does it take 2 Pres's and 20 VP's to lose $$$$? No! They should put those guys together and stop the bleeding!!!!!

DDS is sinking like Titanic. NOV should run all the VPs and Directors from DDS and fold them under D&I. Save the working people. When market turns around you can promote people to be directors and VPs.

Anyone knows how many got cut in Cedar Park Texas on Friday?

I know 2 of the people laid off in Willis were in Conroe a few months ago, maybe almost a year, it's been awhile.

Did they just move these people to Willis from other locations, i.e. Conroe, Stafford, etc.?

I just got laid off in Cedar Park (Austin) from DDS. As of what I heard, its still going on now. Employees, Managers, and etc with 2 - 12 years experience is being let go here. The reasoning they said I was laid off is because of downturn cutbacks.

I wish the best to everyone that survives this round and in the future. I can say nothing but go things from my experience working at NOV.
