There are some pretty hard working low level grunts, but the insular and arrogant cultural has drowned out all innovation or questioning thought in the company.

X86 is the only way.

Moore's Law is alive and well and will continue forever.

Sorry ARM is the way and winning everywhere.

Moore's Law is dead just look at the return on the latest nodes and how 10nm is doing.

Intel is a prehistoric dinosaur.

Vastly outclassed by competitors in non-core businesses such as:

• Memory

• IoT

• 5G

• Apps processors

• Software

Intel's attempts to diversify the business have all failed. Not just a little - but in spectacular money losing fashion. They have no competency outside of x86 processors.

Intel's rigid business processes work well for developing high performance x86 processors. However that market is shrinking due to competitive forces outside of their control. Intel is not capable of the change required to succeed in new markets.

A vicious cycle has emerged.

• PC volume is dropping due to smartphone/tablet demand

• Fabs go underutilized

• Leading to less fab investment and R&D dollars

• Leading to less competitiveness

And so on...

OP stop drinking

The global economy is fine.

PCs are weak because people don't need them. Smartphones and tablets get the job done for most people (not talking about engineers here)

Unfortunately, I don't have a good frame of reference as I joined after college. But my group has been good, but some partner groups I work with day in and day out are nightmares. But I have to say those are in minority.

As far as leadership is concerned, this new group is objectively horrible. They don't seem to know what to do other than blame employees and fire them by changing the rules along the way. This leads to talent drain as well as culture becoming toxic leading to a a vicious cycle of bad execution, backstabbing, etc.

So, even if you think it is a good company now, the trajectory of it is NOT good. You can't deny that. The writing is on the wall. The only way I see Intel rebounding is if two things happens: PCs rebound magically (this will not happen given weakness in the global economy). And BK is let go.

Keep milking the dying cow.

What happens when the cow runs dry?

Look out below! Will happen sooner than you think. Intel has no sustainable competitive advantage outside x86 processors. Just look at the track record of all attempts to diversify.
