Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Who is doing the work at Intel? All experienced workers are gone. We know managers and PEs do nothing.

Entire groups are left with RCGs and nothing gets accomplished. Frustrating!

There's no work being done. We need to spend 6 months in 're-org' mode now as newly minted 'management' come on board.

Highly efficient and focused people like Murthy work from 8am to 5pm.

"we each average about 50 hrs. a week. To be honest, we're both starting to burn out"...

Hmmm... that's sure things sound like a vacation to me. In dry etch i was working 100+ hours a week for months before burning out and quitting...

They have two RCGs now and i was told they still not up to the speed they used to be...

I checked today one dry etch area manager org tree today. It is full of engineers ranging from one month to six months RCGs with several 22-36 months of service at Intel.

Why would anyone begin their career at Intel? It's a dinosaur.

When a company has zero growth, the opportunities for advancement are low.

Don't get carried away by the negative messages posted here by the rotten old f---ing filthy garbage huge asses. They are just trying to make you mess up your career. Towards the beginning of one's career, everyone needs to work their asses off and this is nothing new. You should not expect a bed of roses and relaxed job (like old farts) when you are young and eager to learn new things. The old rotten sh--holes are just trying to brainwash you, so you lose your enthusiasm that would affect your performance at work. Don't believe them.

I'm a grade 6, not an RCG but have been at Intel for three years. I do a lot of work. A lot, I tell you. In addition, I have a counter-part who is grade 7 (also not an RCG but fairly new to Intel - 5 years) and also does a tremendous amount of work - we each average about 50 hrs. a week. To be honest, we're both starting to burn out.
