Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

$9000 Cobra comes in electronically or as a paper check?

ISP'ed in late April. Now I got a job in California, gotta move to start the new job soon. It seems I have not received $9000 Cobra. Does anyone know if Intel send $9000 Cobra compensation through direct deposit (just as severance pay) or just send a paper check? If it is a check, any number I can call to change my address on file so I do not loose this big check? Thanks for your time and reply.

Regardless of this check, you need to call Intel and do a change of address with them. There's a lot more than just your COBRA you could miss out on that I'd be worried about. Tax forms, etc.

I called myBen to enroll with the 6 month COBRA + cash. They said payroll is supposed to send a separate check.

Neither to the best of my knowledge (I'm ERP, not ISP). I believe they are doing the same for everyone which is to add the COBRA/medical $$ to your SERMA account to be managed that way. I doubt they are just going to hand you the money to do with as you please but I could be wrong about that. I know my extra $6K will be added to my SERMA account (once I get info on that which should be in the next month or so).
