Spring 2017 Apparel buy on hold

Either no $$$$ to buy, or decision has been made to close shop?

Not buying spring clothes may be a good idea. Last year we went from spring into summer clothes and we still had pallets upon pallets of spring clothes that never got set out. Our floors were overflowing with merchandise and the back room was worse. To not have a spring clothing line is fine with me.

My store's problem is that we either have soo much space and not enough merchandise for that department or not enough space and we aren't allowed to reorganize the floor due do the stupid flow.

If they're not buying spring clothes now, I'd say the goose is cooked.

Anyone who ventures into sears will only buy clearance or deep discounts. They are educated to the point

of complaining to a manger until the price is reduced. Returns are done for no reason. A sinking ship in Pittsburgh

It almost seems as if the excessive amounts of undesirable merchandise is the 'buying' departments way of 'thumbing their noses' at the higher levels of SHC's management.

Treat the employees like garbage and that's what we'll by and (fail to) sell.

All of the news articles showing how Sears lacks product and shows the wide empty spaces are showing the stores that have few workers (or none at all) to bring the stuff out and stock it. Those Sears stores have merchandise, it's just stuck in the stockrooms.

Sears keeps shipping away, there's no shortage of product unless it is something that customers look for.

Sears reminds me of a hoarder. Buying excessive amounts of items with little value (stuff that doesn't sell).

Most of the stuff they buy ends up sitting until it goes clearance. That is very unhealthy. Some clearance is OK, but when 60-90 percent of the original stock ends up clearanced, that is bad news.

They keep sending more of the same stuff that doesn't sell, packing the floor to the gills.

You can't push a cart through some areas because so many fixtures are required to hold all of this stuff. No apparel is allowed to be stock located, it all has to be on the floor, no matter how tight or disorganized it is.

If their apparel business is faltering, this is why. They are overbuying and not always buying what people are looking for.
