Doesn't matter size of bonus/raise when you think about more working hours for the exempt people left after layoffs who don't get paid overtime. Even 3% raise not worth having to work extra 10-20 hrs a week plus weekends. I guess some people have no other place to go so they deal with working 24/7...blue collar works make more than seagate engineers if you add in the time and a half for overtime. Seagate is like the Walmart of the tech world.

I had a dream last night - Me getting 50% Bonus ; 25% focal; 10,000 RSUs. Screamed out loud in joy only to realize that it was nor real.

they may be targeting older engineers for layoff... of course it isn't stated but pretty evident the price/performance is lacking.
hate to say it, but at least on the software side of things the staff+ engineers fall into two boats:
1) truly excellent at what they do with tremendous knowledge
2) incredibly inept in modern engineering
know your self -- head for sales/marketing/pmo/whatever if you can't swim in the deep end
I think I am incredibly talented to have survived so many layoffs- expecting 30% bonus and 10% hike with a promotion to director level.
