Move to Texas. More rational divorce laws but you need to be there a while else sone bs state like oregon will enslave you with alimony for life. Not only are owg disadvantaged in workplace but when your wife goes for a new toy you the judge will stick it to you again for good measure. That's what you get for getting married. Unless you marry a woman at least ten times richer than yourself just say no

Your job doesn't define who you are. Also, it's not like you can't get another job once you lose one. If someone is dumb enough to not see that, then it's his/her loss.
I am a female and yes, while men look for sexual attractiveness, women look for security. (I know, I know.... broad generalizations....) That's why you more often see older, wealthier men with younger, super attractive women on their arm, not the other way around. You are lucky, if she filed now, in terms of finances, you are less vulnerable if you are broke. Sorry to hear of your double-whammy situation at this point in your life. Please don't lose hope.
