Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Three strikes and out rule

  1. Non-URM

  2. Above 47

  3. High TIG (Time in Grade)

One cannot change 1&2 and 3 is almost impossible to change for people with 1&2 as shown below:

Current employee count= 100,000 approx

Grade 9 and above = 21500 approx

Non-URM G9+ = 20000

URM G9+ = 1500

2020 goal of URM Representation=7166

URM G9 increase needed= 500%

Non-URM G9 decrease needed = 31%

So, with no new promotions, 10% of Non-URM G9 and above will be shown door each year to make room for URM promotions.

Also ironically, I was an Intel manager who was ISP'd and who busted my a*s to recruit, hire and retain unicorn female and URM employees for my team. When I was ISP'd, my team was 50% URM + female and we exceeded 100% of our agreed upon MBOs.

Such accomplishment evidently threatened my manager, who made up some kind of BS reason to give me my 1st ever SL4.

More ironically, since I was walked out, there has been massive turnover on my team. And, of course, neither my manager nor his hand-picked (and useless) replacement for me haven't been penalized.

That's today's Intel.

We have seen how the diversity initiative movie plays out eventually in other places where they tried this for number of years and the end does not change. After the diversity quota for URMs is established the three components tech females, Afrrican am, and hispanic realize that oh sh--! my tribe does not have a fair share of that quota so they ask for hard partitioned quota so now you start hiring candidates of even lower quality to fill individual quotas and all hell breaks loose until the overall URM quota increase presses against the open quota. Currently, since there is no hard partitions within that, you see a large presence of Indian females as other poster mentioned but eventually this will have to give. This movie has never ended well compared to hiring the best candidate for the job which made America great and works against even the qualified URM interests as well eventually. It is important to not get this system deep else becomes impossible to fix as has been shown in countries like India and other places where it has existed

That is a feature, not a bug.

MCM views Intel employees as replaceable cogs. In their mind: Why not replace a cog that's expensive and harder to get rid of with one that's cheaper and easily disposable...and supports the diversity initiative?!

And we wonder why the best and brightest no longer come to or stay at Intel...

"This is seriously messed up, but the numbers do add up. Guys, this is why the URM initiative execution is such BS. Worse than that, BK and his HR goons can't even execute on that, and what they've hired is a bunch of H1B Indians."

The unintended consequence of Intel's URM goals has been a very high ratio of Indian women being hired. Just look around any Intel campus in SC, FM or OR. So much for diversity.

I can't believe the amount of people milking this company dry. A poor sap like me has to bust butt just to survive among millionaires. Change is seriously needed. Lol.

@hqx, I agree 20℅ Gr9 seems high, but I crosschecked with circuit article published last week on diversity and inclusion. 23% non-URM are Gr9 and above and 87% employees are non-URM, which translates to ~20% of total. URM numbers mentioned also look close based on the numbers mentioned in that article.

Where is your source for number of people in G9+. 20% of all people are G9+ seem high. In my organization it's probably 5 to 10%.

First rule to keeping your job at Intel, if you're male, white, and 50, become trans-gender and use the women's restroom. Problem solved.

You can change 1) by becoming a trannie.

...and to conclude this story, Intel will lack talent in just a few short years. Perhaps that's what they need and desire? Who knows?
