Commodity pricing with wild swings and many competitors. Please explain why intel is in this and thinks it is strategic or virtuous?

Grove would probably be rolling in his grave knowing Intel re-entered the memory business. Samsung will absolutely kill them here. Place your bets on how many $bn lost in this new adventure.

Nostalgia for the good old days when Intel indeed truly was the memory company. But they had the sense to exit that years ago (one thought).
Intel got killed by the Japanese in the memory business. It's a commodity you dumbazz.
That's why they got out - to Grove's great credit.
The Asian fabs will grind out all of the profit.
