Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Anyone know what intel HR gives as feedback during background check for ISPed employees?

I am about to join a new job and kind of nervous about it.

@IPTjZU1-azf. Is that true? How do you know? Can it be corroborated once outside Intel? The reason I ask is that, as a long-time Intel employee, my 'references' list is pretty darn short and ancient if I have to leave off Intel references.

I recently done with an interview. they did not asked anything about layoff or why i left etc.

I was happy with all the rounds of interviews.. Everything towards technical.

Skills , confidence , interest towards solving the problem will give you fruits.

Nothing else.

Regarding survival , every day , every second you should be productive , demanding , sincere you will be out at any company.

Nobody gives a f--k about Intel. Just like when Airtel brings people on board. They just want good slaves and pets, their past is irrelevant.

Intel changed its policy with the 1st ISP. managers (or any employee really) can give a reference now if they want. However, it needs to be positive, or at least not negative.

Most of the industry understands that Intel has resorted to a rather 'dirty' forced layoff. They would not care too much about it. You can always do a trial run by having a lawyer do a 'check' ...

Intel will only verify (through third party WorkNumber) your dates of employment and salary. That's it. And managers are not allowed to be references or say anything, positive or negative, about your employment at Intel. If you are about to join a new company, congratulations and don't worry. I assume during the interview you've already been drilled about "why did you leave you previous employer." What I've been saying is I left as part of Intel's business restructuring. That's all they need to know.

Intel is the least of your worries.. LOL. Why don't you just show them your last pay letter, review, stock and paystub.

I highly doubt Intel officially will say anything beyond validating you were an employee and the dates.

You should worry more if you have real skeletons; crime history, twitter/FB/social media profile, posts, drunk driving, wife battery, child molestation, tax returns etc. etc.

So call the HR number and do an employment verification as if you were a potential employer.

Ask about:

  • Dates of employment

  • Final salary ("we have his salary as $x, is that correct?")

  • And rehire eligibility ("would you rehire him?")

They should confirm the first. In some states, they can confirm the second and the third... but, in theory, have promised not to disclose the third.

Unsure but here's a post you might want to read: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/H42F4VK

Personally, I didn't think they could tell anyone that info. Just vague stuff like how long you worked there. I THINK they're afraid of lawsuits if they say more like "ineligible to be rehired". Not even sure they can say that sort of thing even if you were fired for something bad (not ISPed).

Good luck.
