They met their ACT target of 12K HC reduction. BUT hired 6K. So of course more layoffs are coming. Duh.

I knew there's be no link below because I'd have seen it without the need to click on your post. I viewed it because I wanted to see how others responded. :)

Dudes search the posts here, the plans were already discussed at senior meetings with BK as to the required cuts for various growth or should I say lack of growth

Assuming > 2% ( enable hiring again )

Assuming flat ( no layoffs )

Assuming down 2-5 ( layoffs required with targets )

Assuming down > 5% ( bigger layoffs like last year )

You think with China slowdown, negative interest rates across the globe and this Trump/B--ch running it is good for the country...

Look at how servers grew below forecast and how client was down >5% QoQ, huge ramp up in capital required to support 10nm ramp at way below yields, two new products on 14nm that require capacity to be held back on 14nm, huge spends on IoT, memory etc. etc. loss from the Apple modem, 5G failure initiatives, oh yes the MICA recall and closure and write offs.

You are looking at worst case and likely another 5% next year. Pretty much either they are bold and decide to layoff the whole ICF organzation as one example, or do the same get rid of the bottom 5% based on SL4/S5 and IR.

THink about that all the hard working engineers in FSM/TMG and else where no matter how hard you work the bottom 4-8% will go..... doesn't matter if you were unlucky or happen to be on a team of superstars.. at the GM / VP / Fab/division level everyone will have to lose 4-5%... it is a certainty.

Get your resumes polished, your linkedin connnections going, submit them now, as finding a job takes 6 months easy if you want a good one. You don't want to start looking in April after 2017 focal $hits on you. You need to get your house all fixed up and for sale as you know what happens when a layoff happens to the housing market. Some markets will be like Detroit in terms of buyers versus sellers, as will the local job market.

SOL for those that don't move quickly.

Too bad that the Mole had been found and systematically executed. Reminds me of the Watergate "Deep Throat". Great source of highly reliable, honest information. Not like lying BK and his cronies.

@tgi- There goes all that transparency we were promised by BK.

@tgi - Figures. I don't think we had seen any more leaks since ~May timeframe. So sad as this was the best, most reliable source for concerned employees about what's really going on at the company. Circuit became a pure propaganda machine long time ago.

Heard from a reliable source that the person leaking to the Oregonian was found and summarily fired. No more leaks.
