IBM employees are saying another RA is scheduled for around August 17th.

Be aware, be prepared.

No one is safe anymore.

I'm a new grad that got laid off. I was getting paid very little compared to some of the people that didn't get laid off. A few of them were absolutely essential, but some were saved just because they were friends with our director. I realized that I just can't cut it in this world. I have to abandon all my morals if I want to survive as an engineer and I don't think I can do that. Thanks for making me bitter at such a young age, IBM.

Wait. Same day as Cisco. Every new "innovation" in RAs ends up being duplicated at Cisco in an LR.

I don't think that's true. Ginni Rometty and her direct reports are safe (laughing all the way to the bank, until the majority shareholders wise up). All H1B replacement workers (and their $17k/year salaries) are safe. All new workers in underdeveloped countries are safe. New college hires and their low salaries (until they wise up about IBM looking bad on their resumes) are safe. Ginni said in that recent article that IBM gets workers from Facebook, Google, Amazon, etc because they want to work on "serious" projects, what a slap to those companies that are kicking IBM's a--,and their workers. Yeah, "serious" projects like Australia's census system and Delta airlines (not to mention a good number of other recent production outage debacles that didn't make the press because the affected customers didn't want to be embarrassed and lose shareholder confidence in their crappy and not-secure IBM systems).
