Working in Intel mkting team for 7 years and counting, got a good offer from cavm last March ad eventually rejected as my manager at that time promised me pay raise to match the offer. At that time cavm has already been claiming the first sample back in house (A0 stepping) for their ARM based server chip --- and I believe the chip mentioned in this news should be their B0 --- not sure why this took them so long, maybe some critical bugs? LoL
Apple runs a hefty data enter too.
Facebook Google Microsoft- these are big players with big bucks/
They'll bankroll their own processors at some point.
Like I have said before...have you seen the prices of Intel servers? Have you seen the prices of Intel NIC cards? FB, Apple, Amazon are very much aware of this and are marching to change. Yes...Intel, I am afraid has no more MoJo. Intel is only a one trick pony....right next to the dog faced boy...RIP Intel...it was a good run.....
