"Promotions" with no compensation

Curious how many other NOV employees this has happened to. At my plant no one in the office has received a raise in 2-3 years, yet they keep forcing more work on us to make up for those they lost due to retirements (had a lot of oldies here). Some of us have taken on supervisor positions and other promotions with zero compensation because managers say they can't afford it, just promise "some day" which is most likely BS.

I didn't get a god damn raise in 3 years at that dump. Worked the hardest and got nothing. I hope NOV FAILS MISERABLY!

Don't believe that NOV is not paying out.

Ask your managers about their bonus scheme.

It's paid out regularly to the privileged few.

If your face fits you will be allowed to join.

This happened to me. Empty promises .. but, it wasn't just NOV, the corporation that owned us prior did the same things. This is the reason unions are a necessary evil. The corporations are making a big old mess. Which is why I got out of one ... Sorry all still left. Hang in there!!

Someone doesn't understand that a company's goal with compensation is to pay you enough to retain you, that's it.

If you're worth more, other companies will offer you more to take you with which the company may respond to by offering you more to stay.

Clearly we're paying you enough since you keep coming back to work everyday and no one other company has offered you more money.

Upper Execs are given bonuses to keep salaries & expenses down. Just the way it is these days. This is a pyramid scheme.

I know how you feel. When our company was breaking sales records..the excuse was

" too busy right now, we will get to your raise soon"...

Maybe Unions weren't so bad after all!

At least there, they fight for cost of living increases. The federal minimum wage has gone up twice in the last 3 years and still no COL adjustments. Time to start your own business!
