Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Here's the problem with Avaya

Everyone should expect more and more layoffs. Find me one company that has so many changes in upper management - starting with senior VPs and C-level folks - this prevents initiatives/strategies from materializing, one person starts things and soon he or she leaves. The new person changes direction - boom, nothing gets done.

Our debt levels are way too high and despite being the clear driver behind layoffs/furloughs management cherry picks stats to deny it a big issue - it's nuts.

Look what they are doing with layoffs – what kind of management this is – they lay off people, in 2 months they realize it’s a critical role and then they hire again / backfill.

Finally, account managers are barely knowledgeable about what they are selling – ouch – this adversely affects SE teams - management is either unaware of this (or maybe do not perceive this to be an issue) – our business partner community is spoiled, they complain all time and hog resources, discounts and exceptions from certification requirements…

I can see where the minds of the executives are here in this legal statement.

With the looming debt owed in 2017 and the revenues declining, i don't see Avaya pulling out of this nose dive. That said there's a lot of customers that will be very worried about Avaya's health. Does that mean someone will buy a piece or the whole thing ? before of after chapter 11 ? Time will tell. Nortel went down this road too and if you need proof about corporate greed, they still haven't come out of bankruptcy despite selling patents for billions. It's sad to see companies whose roots originated from the invention of the telephone.. great corporations be reduced down to not even a shadow of their former selves. sad to see how businesses are managed these days.

Seriously? You don't know what will happen to Avaya? You only have to read the news. Avaya is for sale. The CEO said that in a recent financial report.
