In the first quarter, firms in the energy and industrial goods sectors blamed oil prices for

50,053 announced job cuts. In the second quarter, oil-related job cuts declined 48 percent to

26,022.

Even if it has slowed down, if there are only 100 cut, and you are one of the 100, it feels like a lot.....at least one too many.

Sure, maybe it's slowing down in the industry, but if you work for COP, that's really no consolation. Our "leaders" are far too slow to respond and sort out how to manage through this mess so layoffs are not slowing down at all. Still a nice steady pace for that here! Wait...what Phase are we on now? Hard to tell with the slow, continuous trickle of "departures" that they try to keep under the radar. Seems like those folks deserve their own phase, so let's go with calling this round Phase 5. Thanks Ryan.
