Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

3% my rear

3% world wide includes about 20k line workers in Asia in the bottom part of that equation. Take them out and it's probably 10 to 15% of the professional staff.

How about 25% of the professionals were "impacted". The 3% just is here.

375 in the US, 250 in Thailand, 150 in Singapore, 155 in China

450 Engr's, 150 IT, 50 in Sales/Marketing

1 VP, 1 plant manager, 5 Directors, 13 Managers

225 in Korat, 177 in RHO, 40 in LNG, 37 in TCO

You got that right. IT functions best as a team and talent is vital. Probably gonna be more on call activities.

120 alone at NRM - many in IT got the axe. Lots of talent and brainpower were let go in this round. I feel bad for the remaining who have to deal with the politics and fear factor involved with being a Slavegate employee!

Right? The floor I'm on at NRM was more like 20%. I'd love to see the breakdown for professional staff.
