Yes, it is very misleading to say there are more than 50 schools. Unfortunately, it's legal. Those schools slated for closure are still in Teach-Out.
I'd love to teach in the writing program.

I agree with zfp. This is the slow wind down phase. Nobody wants to call this what it is, systematic closure in phases, because if they did it would cost the federal government and private lenders billions in loan forgiveness. A lot about this saddens and disappoints me but what saddens me most is that this summer and fall thousands of unsuspecting students will be starting in colleges which aren't adequately staffed and whose future is tenuous at best and no one is straight up telling them the truth when most people only get one shot at college.

If any of you are hoping that the Feds are going to put paid to EDMC, you may have to wait awhile. They clearly stepped into a sh--storm when they knocked over the house of cards that was Corinthian. At the moment, the govt is on the hook for 170 million and counting, and if every student who went to Corinthian gets loan forgiveness, it could be more than 3 billion. They don't want to do that again for a while. As Z-xso says, the backers (and the Feds) want the students to leave on their own accord. Expect a slow dismantling of EDMC with the usual announcements that it it's all being done "to offer students a great learning experience while keeping education affordable".
Everything that was predicted came true on our campus with the exception of one position. At least if something does happen we were warned instead of being blind sided like some of my coworkers were. I hope everything works out for all the employees who are there for the right reasons and do a good job to assist our students.

That's true. The predicted layoffs and restructuring proved all too real. The effects on several campus's was crippling. I suspect today will not be the day it all comes crashing down. The backers would like for students to leave of their own accord. All the recent cuts should accelerate that process.
