They can't cut at the top because all those people know where the bodies are buried. Safer to keep them on the payrolls.

To show some empathy for those that are feeling the pain, it will be nice if the entire SMT starting with Luzco take a $1.00 salary for an entire year.
Seagate as a company is too top heavy. Why can't they consolidate at the top?
With some of the crap out of the way, I feel the company is going to do great. I still see a lot of folks that are dead weight and deserve to be cut, if there's a next round.
Having said that, if you were impacted and think you didn't deserve to - guess what?. You got some package, right?. Make the best use of that - save if you've got a kid going to college pretty soon, or enjoy some vacation time. With your skill-set, you will get multiple offers for a new job (as evident from my title), so do not feel low, but instead feel good about the extra money.
Sign me up. I'd throw a percentage of my pay back to the bean counters for an improved profit sharing plan and a guaranteed job. :)
Come on you guys! Seagate is having a rough time. I don't know about you but I am going to talk to the local directors here in OKC to have their subordinates children open a lemonade stand at the truck stop at the corner. We all need to pitch in and save our company. What do you say?
That's a very good way to turn me into a lazy sack of shi t.
IT director with no rsus or bonus. We all are suffering here.
why cut our meager salaries ? Just have 25% cut from the directors and above would suffice .... They are immune to the company poor performances . I am pretty sure , they are still collecting huge stock options or RSU while the rest of the population suffers . Privileged class indeed .
If u think that layoffs are the final solution, you are totally wrong ! Forced leave and salary cuts blowing at your faces soon . Be prepared .... Have no fear
