Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How wasteful and inefficient is this company

I got VSPs by BK, today on my desk I got at least 6" stack of payer that cost Intel more than 50 bucks to send. All of it junk .. legal crap for heat care, SERMA, Cobra...

Even after this I still can't get a straight answer on when my money is coming.

What is wrong with Intel is as simple as this, tons of paper all wasted money and nothing, most simple of things nobody can answer or figure out.

The insanity included three seperate Cobra packages mailed at a cost of 5 bucks a piece for three different windows.. go figure, no wonder this company is so screwed up

IOT is what is going to fill our fabs. My drone and your drone will send data to the cloud and it can be analyzed by everyone into drones. ie: how many drones in my neighborhood fly at 50 feet on a Monday. Think about the smart toothbrushes sending all that data to the cloud. How many strokes I take to brush my left side, my right side - are they equal? What about my neighbor? I can compare his strokes with mine, against my zip code and how my state is brushing. It is awesome.

Remember before the .dot bubble - Cisco CEO came on, and said everything will be connected - your fridge will email you to get milk etc. Now all that will go into the cloud. You can see how many fridges in your zip code are running out of milk, how many have whole milk in the fridge etc.

This is going to be amazing!! IOT!!!! All the way baby!! I am so glad we are going head first into this at Intel. IOT will save us.

Didn't you hear BK's plan? We're going to fill it with drones and smart toothbrushes. Clearly we have the visionary leader we were looking for.

Big M isn't strategic.

He's an operations guy.

He probably pushed for the layoffs and site closures.

Well, there's a brand new Fab sitting empty in Chandler. How's that for wasteful and inefficient?

Well, don't we have Big M from outside with zero strategy.

The last CEO who knew what competition is like was Andy, each CEO since has been progressively worse and their tenure shorter. Till we get an external leader it won't get better. Every senior manager that hasn't seen anything outside was so arrogant and unaware and leading the company to the bottoms, BK'd royally!

@lhb

It's not every company. Most companies need to be operationally efficient in order to compete, otherwise they get undercut by the competition.

Notice the word 'compete'. In a monopoly - who cares?

Now that Intel has real competition, this BS won't work anymore.

Welll, you know how much Intel preaches "lean" yet they don't practice it.

This is what happens when you've been a monopoly for so long. Layers and layers of bureaucracy build up over the years. The customer isn't given a second thought. It's all about empire building which adds even more uneecessary layers.

Remember AT&T before the breakup?
