Hopefully the king of PowerPoints and spreadsheets gets the ax in Sep or Oct in analysis lab. If he can't put it into a PowerPoint or spreadsheet he can't explain anything. Total waste of company compensation. Has really let the lab equipment go down hill. Refused to upgrade when he could now it's too late.
Pretty sure he has some form of asbergers syndrome.
And your posts are exactly why people love to pull for and are curious about upper management getting cut.
How many employees did you decide had to be let go? How many of them had sacrificed and worked hard, yet you agreed to cut their jobs rather than find a way to retain their talent and skills, possibly in another organization with open reqs? How many employees were under managers in your organization that you never got to know so it was easy to put their names on a list?
Everything you say is about you and how you worked so hard, you put in the hours, you sacrificed. It is like you think you were the only reason you got to the top. What about your employees and coworkers who followed your directions and put in the hours, got their educations, sacrificed their time to help you and your team succeed? It is obvious that you don't care about any of the people you climbed over to become "director" as you can only see how you made yourself successful.
There are about 1600 employees who worked hard, learned their business and craft, got educations. They put in time and effort and made sacrifices to help the company succeed. Rather than any recognition as small as a simple "thank you", directors and managers simply beat them and berate them, dangle the threat of losing their jobs over them. They make cuts and yet expect more from the ones they saved. These are the decisions that come from the upper ranks. The operators and engineers don't make decisions that affect the livelihood of their coworkers such as this.
You say you weren't compensated extravagantly, but 1% of $100,000 is a hell of a lot more than 1% of $50,000 - compound those differences year over year and I just can't feel sorry for you. Now the shoe is on the other foot and you somehow think you are unjustly being picked on? Please spare me your attitude and foul language. You are no better or more important than any of the other lives you ruined to save the corporation a buck.
F--- you all. I too am a director who worked hard, went back to school for my mba, worked multiple jobs to pay bills, all while working late nights at Slavegate because it was the right thing to do, the choice i made. Yes I looked for other jobs occasionally, but I chose to be here. I dont make a lot of money, I dont get a bonus most of the time and I got same package as you. Today sucked for everyone, grow the f--- up.
Not sure who posted my name, Masden, but I never considered myself privleaged class. I always considered myself lucky to be a part of an awesome team. I earned my way to director. I did not get any sort of golden parachute and wish my name was not associated with a post like this as it demeans all the hard work I put into Seagate. Anyone who knows me, will attest that I do not fall under the privileged class nor EVER carried myself this way. I wish anyone going through this the best in their next steps.
Masden
They sah that there are a couple of lab managers that are not worth their salt. The problem is that low level managers seldom get demoted back to agent or engineer. It is a shame too.
Blessed is the golden parachute
