Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

How have telecommuters been handled in the past? Should I go into the local office and wait for HR or will my manager call?

best thing for telecommuters is to send an email to your manager letting them know you are having connection problems. Then logoff for the rest of the day. Dont answer the phone either. It will drive them crazy.

sh--, I really hate talking to my manager. He's avfuvking moron. I was really hoping to talk to some sociopath HR person. Someone whos all busniess. I hate all the goddam excuses managers come up with. Like I give 2 sh--s about what they say once I get the notice.

Your manager will call you before noon.

my manager asked "what time do you target to be in. since I never had been asked that, I knew I had the target on my back. sure enough, on the directors calendar, the night before, was an all day block called "site activities". and sure enough, the layoffs happened the next day, so I cleaned out all my crap and came in and signed the severance papers. and glad to be out of that sh--hole.

There is no point of going in personally. Focus on your daily tasks until notified otherwise.

Absolutely - no worries. The manager will call and speak to you. It is a mandatory requirement per HR.
